These larger statement brooches are handcrafted by Sonya Barbee of YardGirl Creations from upcycled neckties — but unlike our rosette brooches, these preserve the full tie silhouette, worn as a bold, oversized brooch that nods to its origins while becoming something entirely new.

Each tie is selected for its pattern, character, and story — from classic geometric silk to rare novelty prints — then adorned with vintage and upcycled accents including filigree medallions, coin drops, pearl-toned beads, and more. The result is a conversation piece that is equal parts fashion accessory and found art.

Pin to a coat, jacket, bag, or anywhere bold statements are welcome.

A note on the pin: These brooches use a large pin back, felt-lined to protect your clothing. Best suited for coats, jackets, and garments with a sturdy or loose weave. We recommend caution with delicate or tightly woven fabrics.
